VA Support Group
One of the best resources I came across for Virtual Assistants is the VA Support Group.
Started in July 2009 by Virtual Assistants their ethos is ‘collaboration not competition’.
They are a Skype based support group and have grown massively since their launch.
The beauty of the group being Skype based is the instant response you often get to questions or comments. The group has grown to now incorporate three different chat rooms, one for business related talk, an out of hours or water-cooler room, and another where job offers can be posted.
I have met some amazing people through the VASG, and they are now great friends and some of them are members of teamHLSBS.
Whether you have a question relating to software, technology, pricing, really anything to do with your business or you just want a five minute chat whilst you have a coffee break there is something in VASG for everyone.
It means that although you may be working alone in your home office you are never truly alone as there is normally always someone there to chat to or ask advice of.
VASG support each other with no agenda other than to help all VAs succeed.
Connect with VASG via their website and embrace the warmth and support that it stands for.

As a member of VASG, not only have I made really good friends, but I have also received loads of business support. It has been my lifeline when I have been down and out, I never feel alone and has helped me stay the course in actually developing my skills and strengths that I need to run my business. Just simply VASG Rocks!
Wow – thank you Helen for putting VASG as a resource that every VA should use. Who knew our little group would become a valuable resource and all in just under a year. The group simply because of the people who take part and contribute.
Thank you for being one of our strongest and loudest (dare I say it), supporters. Feedback like this is what keeps us going and makes all the effort behind the scenes, so worthwhile.

I cannot think of a better resource for either a start up VA or established one. We have all learned so much from our membership in VASG, as well as making some amazing friends, when some of us have had the chance to meet up for real its felt like you were meeting old friends, not someone for the first time.
Collaboration is definitely the way to go, and thanks to VASG that is achievable.
You know me, Northern Lass likes to call it as I see it hence being such a vocal supporter!
